Marianna Psaltis is an Australian-Greek arts industry professional and qualified teacher with over 17 years of professional practice. Marianna is the Founder and Company Director of multi-award winning youth performing arts school,
Brisbane Acting and Drama.
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Education, Secondary from Griffith University majoring in English (Literature), Drama, Film and Media, Brisbane Australia.
Bachelor of Arts in Applied Theatre from Griffith University, majoring in Acting, Film and Media, Brisbane Australia.

Coaching and MentoringMarianna coaches in the areas of professional and youth acting, speech and drama, curriculum English and drama, debating, public speaking, improvisation, essay writing, creative writing and dramaturgy.
She also provides mentoring to arts youth, upcoming actors and young women in business.
Marianna is passionate about arts education and provides industry training to new and established performers at her Brisbane studios. Marianna provides professional development and training in a range of arts subjects.

WRITING
Marianna writes poetry, prose, theatrical productions and screenplays. She has undertaken several recent applied theatre projects which include addressing contemporary issues such as youth depression and anxiety, violence against women and misogyny in the media. Marianna has written and produced dozens of plays, pantomimes and theatrical productions, both comedic and dramatic, for professional organisations and local performing arts groups.
DIRECTING AND PERFORMING
Marianna has directed over 50 full-length theatrical productions both published and original work. Some include Neil Simon’s The Good Doctor, Dodie Smith’s The Hundred and One Dalmatians and original productions like Façade, The World’s Worst Children and Live Through This. Marianna has appeared in numerous theatrical productions and plays in the Brisbane Festival circuit as well as movies such as Streamline and Mistletoe Ranch.
Marianna has worked with international corporations on projects which include work for Screen Australia, Screen Queensland and Queensland Tourism Thargomindah and Quilpie historical sites).
ADJUDICATION AND JUDGING
In 2021 Marianna made her debut as an international judge in the World Monologue Games, adjudicating actors from 51 countries. This competition is designed to give actors a platform for their artistry, encourage diversity and propel actors into the spotlight on the world stage. Marianna has also adjudicated performing arts competitions locally and interstate.
STUDENT SUCCESS
Her students have achieved stunning results at local and National Eisteddfods and several times topped Queensland and Australia for their examination results with renowned examination body, Trinity College London.
Students also work regularly in the film and theatre industry on professional projects which include TV commercials, Australian Feature Films, stage and musical theatre.
Through her expertise, training and under her guidance, graduates have gained entry to prestigious tertiary intuitions in both Australia and overseas including The American Academy of Dramatic Arts, New York University - School of The Arts, Griffith University Conservatorium, Victorian College of the Arts, Queensland University of Technology, Brent Street and more.
Marianna has engaged in meaningful philanthropic work, ongoing learning in Australia and the USA (Groundlings Theatre and Comedy School) and conducting and attending seminars.
She specialises in teaching students with diverse abilities including autism, ADD, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Dyspraxia by creating an inclusive, supportive and empowering environment that values reciprocal respect through the creativity of drama.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Marianna continually engages in ongoing learning in the arts, education, screen and performance. She has enjoyed learning from renowned Groundlings Theatre and Comedy School graduates such as Melissa McCarthy, Allison Janney and Octavia Spencer and attending regular seminars.
AUSTRALIAN FESTIVAL
The Australian Festival of Performance Arts, an online performing arts competition, was initiated by Marianna in 2020 during lockdown and was a resounding success. The Festival received entries from all over Australia as well as Singapore, the UK and America. Together with a team of industry professionals, Marianna provided the first ever national online performing arts competition. The Festival provided a much-needed platform for students of musical theatre, dance, drama and voice.
