The Difference Between Acting and Drama
In simple terms? ACTING is a DISCIPLINE and DRAMA is CREATIVE.
|
Acting is a discipline that requires passion, focus and artistry. The art of acting is about communicating and storytelling. From the ancient Greeks to modern culture, we tell stories; share heartbreak and shed tears; we laugh, we imagine and travel through time in suspension of disbelief. A good actor engages us, a brilliant actor captivates us and an authentic actor connects us to cultures, stories and characters.

Acting is a discipline and drama is creative. Elements cross over but they are very different art forms that when combined teach us incredible life skills for the world stage.
|
Drama is creative and tangible; it allows us to emotionally engage with each other and our surroundings. When we express ourselves through drama we can create, inspire and educate. Drama gives us the power of critical thinking, confidence, understanding, problem solving, spontaniety, enquiry and so much more. We can write, perform, create and connect through all forms of drama. We become empowered to truly embrace who we are and hold ourselves with confidence, which in turn allows us to empower others. The most important part of learning drama? It’s inclusive and FUN!
